Join us for our fall FCPA fundraiser, a virtual 5K fun-run, on Saturday, October 23, 2021. All proceeds from this event support the Florida Cleft Palate – Craniofacial Association, which is dedicated to promoting advocacy, collaboration, and education within the Florida cleft and craniofacial community.
Our vision is that one day, all children in Florida with cleft lip, cleft palate, or other craniofacial anomalies will have access to state-of-the-art care.
As a virtual participant, you can run or walk wherever you want, whenever you want (on October 23), and at your own pace! All finishers receive a medal. Sign up today!
What Is a Virtual 5K?
A virtual 5K allows you to choose your own start time and place, including your favorite trail, neighborhood route, or even treadmill. You run the race distance, upload your finishing time, and receive a medal after the race.
What Is the Cost to Participate?
Registration is $24.99 for everyone 12 and over. Kids under 12 are free. If you have children to register, just add them as you would an adult. Later in your registration process you will have the option to waive their fee.
Race-day t-shirts are also available to purchase for $21.99.
Are Prizes or Awards Available?
Everyone receives a participation medal (or may opt out if preferred), and if you would like to upload your time after the race, you may also compete for one of the following age-group award medals for fastest times:
- Fastest Male 40 & Over
- Fastest Female 40 & Over
- Fastest Male Under 40
- Fastest Female Under 40
- Fastest Boy 12 – 15
- Fastest Girl 12 – 15
Our RunSignup platform lets you submit your virtual results by uploading your GPS activity recorded while using third-party tracking tools such as Garmin or Strava. Runners competing for awards will be required to upload their activity data by selecting a GPX or FIT file from their computer. Their personalized data will automatically fill in, including the distance, date, elevation gain, and time fields from the activity file being submitted.
Detailed instructions for uploading your race time are provided at the RunSignup website.
How Can I Help?
Please tell your friends, family, and colleagues about this event, and share it on your personal Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram pages.
And on race day, print your unique race bib, pin it on your shirt, snap a selfie, and post on social media your favorite photos from the event. Please be sure to use the hashtags #FCPA5K and #RunningforSmiles5K. Our goal is to spread cleft and craniofacial awareness and help promote the FCPA. Registration for this event is now open.
What Do the Virtual 5K Runners Receive?
All runners receive a medal after the race, and those that would like a race t-shirt may purchase one during the registration process. The last day to order a t-shirt is October 1, 2021, so that we can order and ship the shirts in time for race day.
As an added incentive, if you encourage 5 people to register, you will receive a refund of your race fee. So spread the word on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, and email friends, family, and colleagues about the FCPA Virtual 5k. Please use the hashtags #FCPA5k or #RunningforSmiles5k when posting on social media.
Can Non-Runners Participate and Support the FCPA?
