Please join us for the 55th Annual Meeting of the Florida Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association which will be held over Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend, on January 13th and 14th, 2017 at the B-Resort and Spa in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.

We have an outstanding lineup of guest speakers this year!

Our keynote speaker is Joseph Losee, MD, FAAP, FACS. Dr. Losee is the Chief of Pediatric Plastic Surgery at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and is the Director of the Pittsburgh Cleft-Craniofacial Center. He is the Ross H. Musgrave Endowed Chair in Pediatric Plastic Surgery and is the Program Director of the University of Pittsburgh Plastic Surgery Residency. Dr. Losee will be speaking on “Optimizing Outcomes in Palatoplasty”.

Franklyn Cladis, MD from the University of Pittsburgh on Pediatric Anesthesia and Risks to Development
Jason Portnof, DMD, MD, from Nova Southeastern on Optimal Timing of the Alveolar Bone Graft
John Riski, PhD, Director of the Craniofacial Center at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, will be the featured speaker of the Speech Pre-Conference and, along with Chad Perlyn, MD and Kristin DeLuca, MS, CCC-SLP will lead a panel on VPI.
Christian Vercler, MD from the University of Michigan on Ethics of Cleft Care
Anthony Wolfe, MD from Miami Children’s Hospital will provide a look back at the FCPA and 55 years of cleft care in Florida.

On Friday, January 13th, there will be a Pre-Conference for Speech/Audiology featuring John Riski, PhD, along with the Pre-Conference for Nursing/Team Coordination.

Friday evening is the Opening Reception with food and beverages and time for everyone to get together and catch up, so plan on arriving early.

The meeting will wrap-up around 6:00 pm on Saturday to be followed by an after-meeting social with light food, beer and wine.

Abstracts may be from any discipline and on any topic associated with Cleft and Craniofacial Care. We are eager to hear from practitioners, residents and students. So, encourage all of your friends and colleagues to submit! The submission deadline has been extended to November 30, 2016.

This is an exciting time for the FCPA and it’s a great time to join us in Disney Springs! The FCPA group rate will be available for 3 days prior and 3 days after the event so you may explore and enjoy the area. We look forward to seeing you there!
